Youth Services
New Concepts provides a continuum of care that offers therapeutic interventions in the least restrictive and most natural environment for youth ages three and up. Each level of care delivers comprehensive, person-centered services tailored to address significant behavioral health needs that may impair a young person's ability to function at home, school, or in the community. Outpatient services are available in various settings, including the office, home, school, and community, delivering holistic, trauma-responsive, evidence-based treatment in the young person's most familiar environment.
School-Based Care
New Concepts provides school-based behavioral health services to support the emotional well-being and academic success of students directly within their learning environments. By placing licensed behavioral health professionals and therapeutic behavioral supports in schools, we offer convenient, accessible care that reduces barriers for children, adolescents, and families who may otherwise face challenges accessing traditional outpatient services.
Our school-based services include:
• Individual counseling and emotional support
• Crisis intervention and safety planning
• Group therapy and skill-building sessions
• Coordination with school staff, families, and outside providers
• Referrals to additional services, support, and resources as needed
By integrating mental health services into the school setting, New Concepts ensures that students receive timely, consistent support—right where they need it most.
Extended School Break Services
New Concepts offers continued services during extended school breaks—including winter, spring, and summer—to ensure consistency of care and support for youth. Students enrolled in our school-year programs can transition seamlessly into break-time programming, maintaining their progress without interruption.
These programs are also available to youth who may benefit from daily structure and therapeutic engagement during times when school is not in session. Designed to help prevent emotional, educational, or behavioral setbacks, our extended break services provide a supportive and enriching environment.
Programming includes a blend of indoor and outdoor activities in a natural setting, fostering social-emotional growth, peer connection, and structured routines within a therapeutic milieu. Our goal is to ensure that each child continues to receive the care and consistency they need to thrive year-round.
Day Treatment
New Concepts’ Day Treatment programs are designed to support children and adolescents ages 8 to 17 who have a diagnosed behavioral health condition and are experiencing moderate to severe emotional distress and significant challenges in daily functioning.
These highly structured, intensive programs provide a concentrated level of therapeutic intervention over a relatively short period, helping youth stabilize, build coping skills, and improve emotional and behavioral functioning.
Participants are grouped by age and therapeutic need to ensure developmentally appropriate care. Most youth attend programming 2 to 4 days per week, with sessions held Monday through Thursday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Services are delivered in a supportive, trauma-informed environment and include individual therapy, group sessions, skill-building activities, and family involvement as appropriate.
The Day Treatment program offers a vital level of care for youth who need more than traditional outpatient therapy but do not require inpatient treatment—providing structure, connection, and meaningful progress toward wellness.
These services are designed to help students build resilience, manage stress, improve social-emotional skills, and cope with challenges such as anxiety, trauma, behavioral concerns, or family issues. We work in close collaboration with school personnel to create supportive, inclusive environments where students can thrive both emotionally and academically.
Prevention
At New Concepts, our Prevention Program is designed to empower youth and families with the knowledge, skills, and support they need to make healthy choices and build resilience before serious challenges arise. Rooted in evidence-based practices, our prevention services focus on reducing the risk of substance use and behavioral health concerns by promoting emotional well-being, positive decision-making, and strong connections.
We deliver prevention programming in schools, community centers, and family settings, reaching youth in environments where early support can have the greatest impact. Our approach is interactive, age-appropriate, and culturally responsive, helping young people develop self-awareness, confidence, and coping strategies.
Program components may include:
• Substance use prevention education.
• Social-emotional learning and life skills training.
• Peer leadership and mentoring opportunities.
• Parent and caregiver workshops.
• Community events and outreach.
• Collaboration with schools, law enforcement, and local organizations.
By addressing risk factors early and building on individual and community strengths, the Prevention Program helps lay the foundation for long-term health, academic success, and positive youth development.
